Candles are tiny fires captured in a moment. They are lit to illuminate a corner, a text, an object, a THOUGHT. Though primitive in nature, they awaken within us a sensation that transcends the present. Their atmosphere draws us toward introspection, essence, anticipation, contemplation, and reflection. Toward silence—and its SOUND.
In a world that drives us to exhaustion, pausing to gaze at a candle is an act of resistance—be it just one or dozens, in their varied forms, vibrations, and DANCES—making the invisible visible.
One after another, the candles that light up places of refuge begin to fade. Slowly. At random.
One remains. The one that persists; the one illuminating what must not cease to be seen; the one revealing what goes unnamed. A moment of transition between the old and the new. A wavering boundary between light and darkness.
And then, that final candle vanishes. The ephemeral ends. The space transforms. From movement to stillness. From trembling to calm. A pause.

Dance project rooted in the language of Tap Dance, began its journey in 2015 under the direction of Estefanía Porqueras, an international dancer and choreographer in the discipline. Aiming to liberate the body and the conceptual expressiveness of this art form, the project moves its aesthetic away from entertainment toward a timeless image, while honoring the style's historical roots of oppression and resilience. Through contemporary inspiration and choreographic composition, Estefanía transforms this art into a tool for social, educational, and community action—one that leaves no observer indifferent.
Following various stagings of early explorations into the physicality of the language under the title -SIGHTS- (2015–2019)—and performances of PULSE (2017), the duo piece that defined the project's beginnings, in countries such as Croatia, Brazil, and Panama—the project began incorporating dramaturgies centered on psychosocial themes. This shift fostered the creation of nuanced forms of expression and offered an artistic perspective on various contemporary concerns. The defining work of this phase is the production Summary of Memories and Scars (2020–2022), which focuses conceptually on emotional trauma and toured Spain through Redescena’s Danza Escena 2022 catalog and with the support of INAEM.
In 2024, thanks to support from the Goethe-Institut and the European Culture Moves Europe fund, the project—following two years of conceptual development—is launching its new initiative, A·COS·O, at tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf (May 2024), while continuing its research and creative work at LAVA Valladolid (September 2024), L'Estruch (August/September 2025), and Luthier Dansa (February/April 2026). This initiative marks a new phase for the project, in which the hybridization of various languages and tools serves the central concept: specifically, emotional manipulation, coercive control, and physical violence.
